The Internet is like a treasure chest full of samples, free items and coupons that turn something into a real bargain. I love finding great deals, love getting things for free or at huge savings and
I'm going to give you a quick lesson in how to find good stuff and how to recognize the 'traps and tricks' involved in seeking free items.
There is a sensible way to go about getting in on the fun and it is fairly simple.
Step 1. Get yourself a free email account, this is important if you don’t want your regular email account full of spam email.
Believe me, no matter what you read on a company’s privacy policy you will be getting gobs of email from places you have never heard of. They all say ‘thank you for your interest in our company’ or you ‘requested to receive mail from selected businesses when you signed up at an associated web site, bla, bla bla’. The funny thing is they never tell you who the associated web site was. You can't get off mailing lists unless you know specifically who put you on.
With the freebie web mail account you can just go in and delete all the junk, and not worry about your email exploding with spam. You can enjoy going to the mailbox when your free things start arriving.
Step 2. Do a web search for free stuff, or free samples or some related search. You will get a number of web sites that have free items all sorted out by category. This is really neat because part of the work has already been done for you, from here you just have to decide which offers you want to spend your time on.
I always leave for last the ones that require you visit several other web sites or do applications. Generally there is just too much time spent on these sites running in circles and not getting to the fun stuff. I may be wrong but I also feel these sites are set up to gather information and make it as difficult as possible to meet the required actions. That would explain the Get your $1000 gas card or $300 gift card to this specific retailer or any of the other very lucrative sounding offers. Few people ever get all the required actions done, but many companies get your name, telephone number and email address and sometimes your home address.
Step 3. I also don’t recommend filling out any form that requires you phone number. I didn't spend my time making sure my telephone numbers were on the federal no call list to give it to someone that will end up selling it to a list maker. They don’t need your phone number, if it is a requirement then you probably don’t want what they are selling.
More Tips on getting that free stuff.
I visit the various freebee sites about once a week and sign up for a any new offers. The really fun part of this activity is when the mail arrives and you get a bag of jelly beans or tasty gum, and wonderful lotions and potions for the skin. You can find that treasure in you mail box just about every day if you keep checking on what’s new.
Once you start visiting the sites that provide the links to these offers you will determine which sites are fruitful and which sites are mazes.
Happy hunting!
