Taking pictures of your children doesn't have to be hard..All it takes is just a little patience and a camera.

The photos below were taken with a Nikon F3 high point, a simple Fugi FinePix 2650(several years old) and a inexpensive snap and shoot disposable camera.

I found the digital was slower than I liked in focusing but the newer ones on the market are now far superior. Mid priced Digital cameras today are fast and fully automatic. Canon, Nikon are just two of many brands that will be suitable for almost any photo occasion.

As the family’s major picture taker I found that taking good, fun photos of our children and grandkids requires nothing more than having a camera handy. Kids that are used to being photographed often loose that stiff posed look that happens in so many snapshots.

I’m not saying that those munchkins will ignore the picture taking process but it becomes common place and what you have are fun pictures with those special smiles and facial expressions that only comes with not stiffly posing….

It doesn’t make any difference whether you use a simple snap and shoot film camera, a digital or camcorder. This piece of equipment needs to become part of you. Either in a pocket or around your neck…
The other important thing is being able to take a quick picture - don’t say smile or look at me. That will happen naturally or not – but either way you will be stopping time with some special moments.

You will get those priceless candid photos that hold memories that you will never forget.
Below are a few examples of wonderful candid photos...

Kids pictures…tips to taking better photos of your children

Even the youngest child behaves very naturally when they are used to seeing a camera...that's not saying they don't ham it up a bit but it is a natural response...never posed or stiff.
These toddlers are aware of the camera but they also like the attention and continues to play naturally.

Sometimes you find kids doing things all children do - like playing in trees. The photo on the left was taken basically without warning...no smiles or cheesy reactions. Again, this is very natural looking, and one of my favorites.

Photo below
Here again the natural fun of playing on trees provided another candid photo. The intent look without the tell tale grin is the result of that photo being snapped without warning.
