A Dude Ranch vacation might be for you if you love horses and want to do plan something different for your vacation.

Dude Ranches provide unique vacations that allow us to take part in some of the activities that played a large part in the life of early western settlers.

Many ranches are family orientated with activities planned for children and the family as a whole. Others are geared specifically to the adult.  Whether you want to spend your time truly resting or perhaps a business working vacation these facilities can provide just about any amenity necessary to accommodate any group of guests.


A number of dude ranches are actually working ranches with all the activities that go along with having livestock. Trail rides, cattle herding and doing actual ranch work. Many of these ranches can also provide overnight camping trips and trail rides. In many circumstances there is also rafting and fishing the local lakes and rivers.

Ranches vary in the amount of available guest occupancy. Some can have as few as 10-15 guests while others may have room for up to 70-80 people. Some have guest cabins or main house lodging that would be as comfortable as any major hotel.

Amenities range from heated pools, hot tubs, saunas, and massages.  It is not uncommon to find tennis courts, trap and skeet shooting also available.
Generally there is instruction provided to improve riding skills and perhaps in some of the other  activities that may be new to the guest.

Meals vary between the different ficilities but one thing remains the same. High quality, wonderful food prepared just the way you like it.
