Vacations are one of the high points to a years passing. Many of us get to experience that wonderful break all too infrequently. Sometimes it is work-related responsibilities, or perhaps finances are such that it is not possible to take that vacation you wanted. 

In either case with a bit of planning and research you might just get those wonderful escapes. Can’t go on a two week or longer vacation? Then the answer for you may be to plan a number of mini vacations throughout the year.
Plan a couple of days off in conjunction with a weekend and you can have a nice mini vacation, add to that an occasional holiday and things are looking up…If you are doing your traveling by auto you can plan those travel days to see some of our beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Over the years vacations have been arranged around school breaks, generally in the summer. However, by using the mini vacation idea the entire year has good and interesting possibilities for that special get away. We have many different climates and environments in our west coast area. From rain forests and rugged coastal shorelines to high mountain ski retreats there is something for everyone.

Our goal is to describe ways for you to enjoy those short vacations to the utmost. Whether you decide you want to camp or utilize facilities such as parks, simple motels, posh resorts or homey bed and breakfasts, we’ll give you ideas and resources to make planning easy.

These same ideas will also aid in planning that longer vacation. Everything from walking on the beach to wandering along a mountain trail - the Northwest has it all.
