House training problems...Bad Weather
Pitfalls in house training - Weather

For those who have never tried to house train a puppy in the winter or during rainy weather - you can save your self some grief by getting an umbrella and placing a pair of boots next to the door. If you want the puppy to go outside to do his job you better be prepared to go too. It simply won’t work to open the door and shove him outside. This will result in the pup sitting on the step until you open the door, he will promptly come in and find a place to relieve himself. Your fault.

Patience and attention is the only way pups learn and until they gain enough age to control their systems and then a reason to do so you can expect accidents.

Another trick to house training - Puppy crate and the toilet box....

I have had puppies literally broke to shredded papers by the time they were 6-8 weeks old. By using the playpen and placing a small travel crate against one side of the pen, then butt a small cardboard box with shredded newspapers right at the kennels door. This is a good example utilizing dogs need to keep their bed clean …those puppies moved as far away from their bed and into the paper box to eliminate.  It didn’t take long before the box was moved to the other side of the pen. This training continued on by the new owners and these babies were house trained at very early ages.
